Test taking
Table of contents
Testportal provides a platform for creating and conducting tests, but we are not their authors. On this page, you'll quickly find answers to the most frequently asked questions by test takers. However, for many inquiries, it's best to contact the person who shared the test with you directly.
How to take a test?
The way to take the test depends on the access type. Please find details below.
Private access code
You will receive an email from Testportal with an invitation to join the test. If you can't find it in the Inbox, check SPAM and other folders.
Email will contain two links. The first one leading to Testportal homepage www.testportal.net. Enter the access code from the email In the Are you here to take a test field and press Start your test to confirm.
The second link will take you directly to the test start page. You don’t have to enter the access code here. It is a faster option to join the test. On the test start page, after filling the data fields, press Start your test to take a test.
Microsoft Teams
You join the test as a team or chat member. You can see the published test as a new tab in the Teams channel. You also get notification in the channel. Read the instructions and start the test.
Public link
If you received a link to the test, you can open it and start the test. On the test start page, after filling the data fields, use the Start the test button to take a test.
Training
When you receive a link to the test, open it to start the test. On the test start page, fill in the data fields and use the Start the test button to take a test.
Group password
To join the test, go to the subdomain address received from the test creator. Next, enter the group password in the field and start the test.
I received two access codes. Which is the right one?
The test owner decides how the respondents can access the test. If individual access codes are selected, the test owner may accidentally generate more than one code for each respondent.
What should I do if I receive two or more test access codes?
Use the newest of the codes received. Check the date and time of your email messages to ensure you are using the most up-to-date one. The owner may have changed the test settings and generated a new set of access codes by mistake.
How do I use a unique access code?
You will receive an email with two links and your code. The first link takes you to the Testportal homepage. There, enter the access code from the email in the “Here to take a test?” field and press Start your test to begin.
The second link will take you directly to the test start page. You don’t have to enter the access code and this is a faster way to join the test.
What if none of the codes work or I don’t receive an email?
Contact the test owner to receive your individual access code.
How do I add a file to an answer on Testportal?
Testportal allows you to add files while editing answers. You can use almost any type of attachment.
Can I attach an audio, PDF, or image file to a question (or answer)?
You can attach any file that does not exceed 5 MB in size. You can easily add audio, video, image (we suggest compressed formats, such as JPEG, JPEG 2000, & PNG), PDF files, or a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet.
Why don’t I see an option to add an attachment to my answer?
As a respondent, you may only add attachments to descriptive questions. Also, the test owner must allow respondents to add attachments in the test settings. If you do not see the option to add an attachment, the test owner has chosen not to allow it.

How can I check the result of my test?
After taking a test on the Testportal platform, your result may appear on the test end page. Whether it's visible or not depends on the settings configured by the creator of your test. The test owner might show you your result immediately after the test, make it available later or notify you through a different communication channel.
Test end page
Why can't I see my test result?
Your result is not visible if the test owner hid it, or if the test contains ungraded open-ended (descriptive) questions. You can:
Copy and save the link to the final test page. Using this link, you can check at any time if the result has appeared.
Keep an eye on your email. Once the test is graded and if the creator decides to share results, you will receive an email notification with a link to the final page.
You will be able to access the page with your test result as long as the test hasn't been deleted by the test creator.
When will I see the results of my test?
If the person providing the test reveals its results, you will see them:
Immediately after taking the test, as long as the test didn't include open-ended (descriptive) questions.
After the test creator has graded descriptive answers if such were a part of your test.
The test author might also notify you of the result through means other than Testportal or might not share the result at all.
How do I save the page with my test result?
You might need your test result in the future. Therefore, it's a good idea to download the test's end page as a PDF, send it to your email, or save the link. Remember that some information about your result might be shared with you at a later date, not immediately after taking the test. The test creator might also notify you of the result through means other than Testportal. In that case, the test result won't be visible on its last page.

Remember not to share the link with third parties. If, after some time or in a different browser, you want to access the result page, you must first provide all the details you used on the starting page. Based on this, authorization will be granted, allowing you to view your test result.
You can view the page with your test result until the author deletes it.
Read the next section of the article to find out which answers were correct in the test you took.
How can I know which answers were correct?
When you finish taking a test on the Testportal platform, the correct answers may be visible on the test end page. Their availability depends on the test creator and the settings they applied. You might see the correct answers immediately after completing the test. They might also be shared later or provided in a different manner. The test author might also choose not to inform you about the correct answers.
Why can't I see the correct answers?
Whether you can see the correct answers depends on the settings chosen by the test owner. If the correct answers are not available after the end of the test, it means that the owner has decided not to reveal them to the respondents.
If you want to know the correct answers, contact the person who provided you with the test – they can tell you whether the answers will be available to you.
If answers are available, which ones will I see?
Correct answers will be visible for single choice questions, multiple choice questions and short answer questions. The answer key for the latter may change due to the actions of the test creator.
